Slippery Elm is the powdered inner bark of a North American tree. It is very glutinous. It absorbs water and the tea made “slips down” the throat in to the stomach.
Its taste is neutral: but some people don’t like the ‘slippery’ feeling, so for you – we also put it into capsules. Slippery Elm Plus capsules have a few extra herbs added to help support healthy digestion. Slippery Elm helps to sooth the digestive tract: it is a herb we would not want to be without. If you have any questions about it, please do ring or email us, and we’ll be happy to advise.

Slippery Elm is the powdered inner bark of a type of elm tree with fantastic properties. It’s one of the many herbs first discovered by the Native American Indians. It is highly nutritious and easily digested, making it a valuable tea even for the very young and the elderly.
